Workshops

From a formal education to a community setting, bringing in an artist can be very daunting for teachers and workers. Does the artist have the right skills? What will they be doing? This stress is not one that you will experience with me.

I am a JNC qualified youth and community artist. If you book in a workshop programme with me, I provide everything, from workshop plans, risk assessments and all the materials needed. Plus the reassurance that I am experienced, professional and flexible.

Have a look at some of the workshops that I deliver, if there is something that you like the sound of or would like to find out a bit more then you can contact me here.

Printing with Nature

Using drawing and printmaking techniques, you can engage families with the concept of ‘Printmaking with Nature’. This is a great summer activity as it gets children out and about and engaging with local fauna and flora. You can run it like a nature hunt and gives families an opportunity to access your green spaces. All you do is pay for a license to use and print the packs and for your staff to be trained in the facilitation of the ‘Printmaking with Nature’ packs.

This can also be delivered by myself in person as a workshop to engage families in printmaking and/or about a certain exhibition or collection. This can be done at anytime and can be adapted depending on your museum or galleries needs and target audience.

Sewing Circles

I love a good sewing circle, from joining one to creating one. I have been involved in facilitating safe space sewing circles, each circle has its own purpose from teaching embroidery skills to helping people to learn how to adjust their clothing. If you have a venue or group who would love to host a sewing circle lets build it together.

Explore local art history

In this series of workshops, I explore the history of art and how a gallery or museums collection can develop an artists practice. This is a great process to encourage artists and arts groups to engage with your gallery or museum exhibitions and collections. It is also a way to develop local artists skills and knowledge on how to build a practice in community settings. This is a great opportunity for your venue to build it’s artists portfolio and can be funded as part of future projects that have artist engagement. To discuss this series of workshops and how it could work for your venue please contact me here..

I was lucky to be part of one of Louise’s workshops, her story was so captivating and really made me think about how we need to get back to nature. Louise has an enigmatic warm personality that feels like a much needed hug! Would definitely recommend!
